Dufftown is ideally located for touring Speyside and the Highlands, located almost equal distance between Inverness to the west and Aberdeen to the east. Allow about 1.5 hours if you are driving by car to Dufftown from these two cities.
TO FIND THE ELMS:
From Aberdeen ( via Huntly, A920) - Dufftown is about 20 minutes from Huntly. Turn left towards the town centre as you enter Dufftown and The Elms is about 1/4 mile up the hill on your right on Fife Street.
From Inverness (via Elgin or via Aberlour) - turn off the A941 and go through Craigellachie. Dufftown is about 4 miles along this road. Enter Dufftown and turn left at the town clock tower onto Fife Street and The Elms is about 250 yards on your left.
From Tomintoul (B9009) - enter Dufftown from the West on Conval Street and continue straight past the town clock tower (this becomes Fife Street) and The Elms is about 250 yards on your left.
There is regular bus service connecting Dufftown to the towns in the
area and the nearest railway station is in Keith (~10 miles).
If you are travelling by car from Glasgow or Edinburgh, please allow 4 hours to get to Dufftown.
